Carnegie Hill Apartment
This gracious prewar apartment in Manhattan’s Carnegie Hill benefits from north, east and west exposures. Our primary objective was to modify the apartment to make suitable for a young family, adding a third bedroom and a powder room. We reorganized the entrance sequence to provide a continuous sightline from the entrance foyer to the serene streetscape view. Arched openings were introduced to delineate the vestibule, kitchen, living and dining spaces. Other improvements include a state-of-the-art kitchen, central air conditioning, stacked washer dryer, ample concealed storage, and new finishes throughout. The neutral interior palette punctuated by muted earth tones was chosen for its soothing properties amid the hustle and bustle of a busy city. Photos are © Regan Wood.
