Jessica is a Director and co-founder of POP Architecture.
Jessica has been exposed to design since she was a child. Her father, Rod Pleasants, is a prolific and revered interior designer and often had Jessica in tow on excursions for antique furniture. Jessica spent summers with her Italian relatives in Southern Italy where she developed a deep appreciation for the Mediterranean lifestyle. She received thirteen years of education at Marymount School of New York, opposite the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She has a degree in Art History from The George Washington University and studied abroad London in Rome, where she worked as a walking tour guide.
Jessica takes delight in absorbing the beauty of her surroundings, whether exploring a hidden city side street or active in a kitchen enjoying the company of friends. She often pours over maps, curious about the factors that led to a town or region’s development and growth. When designing, Jessica takes into consideration the way one moves through a space and the tactile, experiential qualities of the room.
Jessica has nearly 20 years experience working in architecture and construction, starting her professional career in public relations for the design industry working for FXFowle (now FXCollaborative) and Skidmore Owings & Merrill before pivoting to construction project management. Her time executing high end residential projects in Manhattan for Godwin Residential Construction gave Jessica a deep understanding of the administrative and logistical constraints of renovating apartments in New York City.
